Our first weekend together in Switzerland... After much Ikea shopping on Saturday, we decided to spend Sunday afternoon doing some sightseeing. Lucerne, being only 40 mins away, turned out being a great choice. It is quite scenic, situated on a decent size lake with mountains in the background and a crystal clear river running from the mountains down to the lake. What impressed us the most was Lucerne's long history and the incredible age of the buildings and bridges. We hiked up and on top of the city walls for most of our visit. Often peeking through the archer slits in the walls, pretending to shoot the invading forces and protecting the women folk. Well... I did anyway, not Rani. She mostly hid her face from embarrassment! Rani did real well hiking up all the stairs to the many towers of the ramparts, although we reevaluated some of our plans for future trips, realizing it can be difficult wiggling into tight places with a baby in your belly. It was a great visit and cant wait to take our friends and family there!

i just wrote a whole big comment and it wouldn't let me send it unless i registered? i think?
so
what i said was how beautiful the pictures were and the documentary is very descriptive - almost felt like i was there. i laughed out loud at some of your shopping episodes! but, what really got me was - NO SWISS CHEESE?! snobs!
it must be so frustrating when you're used to running in the store, pick up what you want, slide the cc and be on your way. it sounds like it is a day trip for you but you will be a PRO very soon, i'm sure! sounds like you are keeping a good sense of humor though. rani, take it easy. you will be there a long time and have lots of time to visit and explore all the exciting and adventurous places throughout Europe. AND baby Cerny will be able to enjoy them with you! she'll be here soon.
we miss you guys
will tune in again soon.
