Noah claims his throne as head of the house

Our first few days on our own.....

We've had an exciting time getting home with little Noah and adjusting to a schedule....(or should I say his schedule). We made a trip to the U.S. Consulate for his passport, to the baby store and just hung around the house.

Our first great adventure was to get Noah's passport. We were determined to have a complete application to speed up the process. Unfortunately for us, the one time that Noah did not feel like waking up for us was during his picture taking at the photo place. The only requirement for the photo was that his eyes were open.

Kurt had him almost completely undressed giving him raspberries on his belly to no avail. We decided to carry on to the Consulate with everything except for the photos. As a result, we had to hold our own photo shoot once we got home to try to capture little Noah at his best in the exact pose that we needed.

Our first attempt....not quite what we were looking for.

"C'mon guys, enough is enough.....wasn't I cute enough in the first one......?"

Noah looking a little like a convict in what was his final passport photo - meeting all of the criteria......

Noah wide awake in his typical daytime pose......

Daddy trying to get Noah to sleep.....

Noah at playtime......"I know Mommy & Daddy are just trying to tire me out.....but it's not going to work this time."

"Mommy wants to play too so that must mean I should stay awake as long as possible. "

Finally he sleeps while Skyping with great Grandpa & Grandmom Price in Texas....

On December 9th we said our good-byes at the hospital, got checked out by the doctors and were able to go home. Upon our arrival there we found a present that Daddy had designed and built for Noah & me - a beautiful wooden rocking chair. This has already come in very handy for putting little Noah asleep.
Noah and me saying good bye or Aufwiedersehen to his morning midwife before leaving. Since she did not speak much English we used a lot of sign language to communicate with her. She also taught us alot of German words we didn't know such as "kaki" which translates to when Noah does #2.
Daddy getting Noah all bundled up. He is excited that we are coming home finally. Too bad the hat doesn't fit Noah's head......it was too tight. He's a big boy.
"Hmmm......where do they think they are taking me now and what sort of contraption have they strapped me into?"
Daddy & Noah at the front door of our apartment building. Good thing Noah was bundled up - it was cold outside.

Noah Robert Cerny

December 3, 2008

Noah Robert Cerny was born at 1:57 pm on December 3, 2008. At 9 lbs, 3 oz and 22 inches long, the doctors exclaimed, "Ein Grosse Junge!!!" (A big Boy!!!) Rani is doing awesome after the 34 hour labor and Noah is quite content just hanging around, for now.... We just wanted to get a few pictures up so people can get a glimpse. The pictures go from most recent to the beginning with a short video at the end. We will be constantly updating, so check back.
